Of the Tesh-nu-kill-logical kind: I just dropped 20-odd dollars on a gizmo that will allow me to connect a 10-year-old laptop, running a bitchin' fast Win '98 and with a broken power cord, to our router. Not wirelessly, mind you, but through a lonnng USB cable.

I have no idea what inspired me to do this, other than fear that this desktop's just gonna explode one of these days.

So according to the Fair and Mentally ImBalanced news analysis I just read, Senator McWrinkly did himself a favor by injecting Paris Hilton into the Presidential campaign, since it drew Obama off-message and got the media talking about McCain again.

It seemed to me from earlier in the day- when even the secretaries in my office, about as apolitical a bunch as you're going to meet, were raking in the Lulz over Paris's crackback on "the dude"- that Mister Experience had been pussywhipped by a ditzy blonde heiress with no political credibility whatsoever.

Then again, he must be used to getting that at home.
