The story so far:
Day 01 - A show that should have never been canceled
Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching.

Day 03 - Your favorite new show (aired this TV season)

As the soccer people say, nil.  I don't have very good luck with this sort of thing, as evidenced by the four most recent new shows I took an interest in right from the beginning:

Pushing Daisies (2007)
Traveler (2007)
Lost (2004)
Dead Like Me (2003)

All attracted highly involved and enthusiastic fanbases. All had good casting and good writing. Only one of the four lasted more than two seasons, and that one was such a black hole of brain cells, I couldn't watch it for extended sections of its run.

It's not surprising that this past season offered little to suck me in to another heartbreaking experience. Between NBC's failed attempt at Lenoizing the 10:00 block, and all the networks getting stupid in their choices of reality shows and other drek, I don't even recall one post from somebody saying, "Dude, you gotta see this!"

So I didn't.

I recently got into Royal Pains on USA. Dude, you gotta see this! It's like a cross between House and MacGuyver, sorta. I am finding it highly entertaining so far. My only lament is that since we don't have cable, I have to wait a full week for new episodes to show up on Hulu. It's not popular enough yet for it to go up overnight on my favorite cheater site.

Flashforward was pretty involving and reasonable.

They, um, canceled it.

I get most things from the US after they've run for a bit, which is made worse when they are cancelled so early.

I didn't mind Castle, so I can't blackball everything new, but I admit I was surprised that I did. I don't watch most things until I know it's going to stick around.. Lost gathered so many rabid fans so fast I backed up - and I never cared after that.

(Your post about QL brought back wonderful memories of my mom and I watching it together as I grew up - and my devastation when I asked her about the end of the series... and she told me. I considered it one of the great unfairness of the unfairnesses in the world.)

Since two of your four are Bryan Fuller creations, may I recommend a third? Wonderfalls was another great show that did not survive the encounter with the dark and terrible forces known as "Fox".

YES! Wonderfalls was the best! It didn't even air all the episodes they made, and it was clearly filmed in Canada, but I loved it.
