You're not MY state senator. I'd have voted for your Republican opponent over you if you had been, but you managed to fool enough people in your district, in part by engaging the help of many progressive Democrat supporters, to keep your perpetual incumbency in last November's election and give your party its first working majority in 40 years, despite the machinations of some idiot downstate Democrats calling themselves the "Gang of Four," who threatened to defect to the GOP if the Democrats acted, well, democratically by, among other things, letting the elected representatives of their chamber vote up or down on a bill allowing gay marriage within the bounds of this state's borders.

Instead, you shoved those Democratic principles (upper-case D as well as lower-case d) under the bus by going along with the Gang's demands. You let one of them usurp your rightful place on the seniority ladder to give one of their homophobic wetback selves a key State Senate leadership position. But Hey! no problem- cause they traded with you to give you a Buffalo-based patronage pit of a "regional office" staffed by two annoyingly partisan political hacks, plus they awarded you use of a state car to drive you to and from your Albany betrayal sessions,... and you held out your gay marriage vote for the whole five months "your" party controlled the legislative agendas in both houses, letting liberal bastions like New Hampshire and Iowa pass us by in the equality department while you waited on your instructions from His Holiness, or rather his deputized minions of the Senate Republican minority,....

and did so just long enough for you, and Malcolm in the Muddle, and the rest of your Slim Shady Majority to notice, before that usual gang of Republican Senate idiots pulled the rug out from under you, and with it any hope of a gay-marriage bill making its way to the lame-duck Guv's desk anytime soon this century.
