This American Life's live show, broadcast to movie theaters last month? Finally showed up on the podcast this week, and I just got to it. It began by mentioning an encore movie-theater presentation... um, two nights ago.

Oh well. It began okay and ended kinda depressingly, but the middle was golden. Joss Wheedon, in his first-ever live musical performance, playing one of the songs from the Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog DVD commentary.

Now mind you, I'm not TOTALLY clueless. I knew a bit about this internet thing he's been doing, but I did not know it had been DVD'd. Or that it includes a commentary track. And certainly not that the commentary track is itself in musical verse. The download link to the whole episode is here.

Netflix doesn't have the DVD yet. Amazon does. If anyone's seen it, is it a keeper?

Off to Trek. Later:)

Yeah, we went to see Wolverine the other day, and there was a trailer for an encore presentation. I was like, "SWEET!" and the date went up and it was that night. Great planning, guys.

I have the iTunes version-- the DVD isn't out here yet, dammit. *waits impatiently for the commentary track etc* The musical itself, however, is utterly brilliant.

Your fingers must be tingling...I was just getting ready to blog about Dr. Horrible. Very possibly the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Of course Joss likes to work with actors he knows, so Nathan Fillion of "Buffy" and "Firefly" fame is there. Neil Patrick Harris is fantastic in it! I must have the DVD!!!

I'd love to. BN says it doesn't release until June 2. Why does Amazon say I can have it yesterday?

Because it was an exclusive release through Amazon for the past, like, year. That changes in June.

I hate those. I hate that Netflix didn't say June 2nd on its page when it damn well is. I hate that the Nuns and Barble guy used the term "universal release date" to mean "universal except the guys who got the exclusive who you can get it from now."

I do not, however, hate you. Especially tomorrow. Happy early birthday ::hugs::
