On the baseball blog earlier today, I gave my initial reaction to the news that Dodger slugger Manny Ramirez had been suspended for using a banned substance- a particularly unusual one.
Overheard in a doctor's office, somewhere in Southern California:
"Mr. Ramirez, I have good news and bad news."
"Okay, Doctor, I can take it. What's the bad news?"
"You tested positive for a banned substance and they're suspending you for 50 games."
"Oh My God! What's the good news?"
"You're pregnant with octuplets."

Over dinner just now, we got riffing on the story a bit more.
Eleanor: Well, at least now the Octo-Mom will have someone to hang out with.
Me: Yeah, now that he has all this time off, he can babysit for her.
Eleanor: ::spit-takes on chili::
Me: No, he'll be good at it. He's already used to working with eight other guys at a time.
