squonk_npl isn't one of the most regular of posters here, but he is always one of the most interesting, and in this case, among the most tormenting. Dude calls in puzzles to NPR and they use them. Regularly.

This morning's, on his blog here, was one of the kind that, for me, is like a bad road accident: I just have to slow down and look. And look. And keep looking. Until I get them all. Which, I think, I did.

Each of the strings below represents a well-known work of fiction (book, film, or television series) that contains a robot or computer that could be said to be artificially intelligent. In each title, each vowel (a, e, i, o, u, and y) has been replaced with a v, each consonant has been replaced with a c, and each digit has been replaced with a #. Punctuation and capitalization have been preserved. So, for example, the classic short story collection (or not-so-classic Will Smith film) I, Robot would appear as V, Cvcvc. For each title you correctly decipher, you get one bonus point. If you solve them all, you get an additional ten bonus points (for a total of 25). To help, the list is in dictionary order. The biggest hint he gave, which really made it infinitely easier, is the alphabetical order part. Well, infinitely easier up to a point, which, as soon as you get there, you will understand.

You have no idea how blessed you are. When you see some of the answers, which by necessity I had to think of, your brain is in much better shape than mine now is.
