Nah, not nearly that big.

The connection between Car Talk and Cheers was more associated with the number 4, for that's the number of actually-aired episodes that IMDB can identify of The George Wendt Show. That was the starring vehicle that CBS dreamed up for Norm! based on Car Talk after the Cheers finale. Somehow, Click and Clack managed to keep their names out of the production credits, but they, and their longtime producer Doug Berman, were definitely involved in the effort before it cratered not long after it premiered.

I think I managed to watch half an episode. MAN it was bad.

Maybe they'll do better as cartoon characters.

Packed and ready here. Will be at my first stop by late afternoon, and probably in Manhattan by 11-something tomorrow. If you haven't already and care to make contact, the cellage is in this old post. Just the number's the same, though; the game info this time is Wednesday at 7:ish p.m. and Thursday at 1:ish p.m. I'll be heading home straight after the latter, so best times for connecting are Wednesday afternoon and early Thursday.

Actually, they did a pretty good job as the car owners in "Cars."

As for the Wendt show, I've always felt he was a bit overrated - he had some funny lines in Cheers, but couldn't carry a whole show. And his one appearance on "Whose Line" frankly, stunk.

I never watched George's show, which I'm now seeing is a good thing.

Safe travels to you!
