What does one do on the 4th when the kid's away and the missus is working?

Watch old Zones on Skiffy, what else?

These marathons are always hit-or-miss with me, since many of the episodes, especially the later ones, didn't quite work the way the earlier ones did. But hey- when the first one out of the box is "To Serve Man," how can you go wrong?

There's a great triviabit about that episode I'd not seen before linking that just now:

Other than that, the only sign of human activity in this neighborhood is, God love 'em, a team of town contractors out decapitating tree stumps. Cause what stands for America better than abject defoliation, huh?

4. After these past five long years, once again gets to direct all those mean "old" jokes back at Strom Thurmond.

3. Doesn't have a problem anymore with coloreds drinking out of the same fountain because, hey!, no fountains.

2. No National Endowment for the Arts funding whatsoever, just a 24-hour continuous Ronald Reagan film festival.

And the number one reason Senator Helms is happy at last....

1. Finally, someone's in charge who understands how frustrating it is to lose a civil war war of angelic aggression and doesn't expect him to "get over it."
