He came home in a rainstorm, with fire trucks on Main Street heralding his maiden voyage.

I only knew that secondhand, since we drove to the dealer separately and thus had to meet up at home after I stopped for essentials at the store. No Smart car when I pulled into the driveway. Hmmmm... was Eleanor showing it to someone? Had it attracted a Smart mate like a 1990s Furby?

Nay nay, Ray. She got it into the garage. Our summertime filled with crap garage. Iggy FITS:-)

There are several feet past that wheelbarrow, where she'd collected all the left-side crap. He's snug as a bug in a rug in there.

Another angle:

I cannot walk past this car without squeeing and calling out, CUUUUTE!

----

Morning brought an 8 a.m. workday for Eleanor and a 10 a.m workout for me. I drove by the store en route, and there he was, parked at the wayback-est corner of their parking lot.

I waved.

He's now back in for the night. I filled one of the cat food dishes with AA batteries and pretended to go out and feed him. I said CUUUUTE! many more times.

One of Eleanor's friends asked for a dashboard pic. Not turning it on for that, but here's a shot of his deelyboppers:

The left one's the all-electric equivalent of a gas gauge, selling you what percent charge you have. Other onboard stuff tells you how far you  can go on that charge; other apps point you to in-range charging stations of various stripes. The right one, more or less, is a tachometer, only it goes both ways, showing you when you're using or, yes, gaining charge while driving (coasting and braking transfer charge TO the battery, much as your alternator does in conventional cahs).

I may take him to church tomorrow, although he was already baptized yesterday.

107 miles per charge, from flat-dead starting point. There's an app, which shows you where 220 charging stations are. Most of which (at last assessment) are free.

I just noticed his face. He's got such a big happy smile. It's impossible not to like him.

If we weren't so fond of long-distance drives, I'd encourage Steven to get one. :)
