Flipping us the Byrd
Jun. 28th, 2010 10:38 amWhy is it never easy when my party is in power?
We get a Democratic governor and the guy promptly drops his pants on a ho. Worse, he pays by credit card and gets caught.
Then we get a Democratic majority in both houses of our state lej for the first time in 40 years, and there's a coup. Forget "Albany" as the capital- we should sell naming rights to it to Banana Republic.
Teddy Kennedy dies, and winds up being replaced by a Republican, thanks to a bill passed as HIS behest to require a special election to fill unexpired US Senate seats in Massachusetts.
Now the Byrd Man kicks the bucket- exactly five days before West By God Virginia state law (sorry- the Senator Robert Byrd Memorial State Law) would have given the W-BG-V gov, a Democrat, unquestioned authority to name a replacement for the remaining two-plus years of the term.
Where were all the Catholic protesters to prolong his freakin' life support another week? They did it for John Doe Jersey, after all!
