All three of us were up at stupid o'clock today- Em at her usual schoolday time, but the grups had made a romantic morning date: dental cleanings at the romantic hideaway known as Wolff Family Dentistry. It's always hard for Eleanor to schedule one of these because she doesn't get her exact schedule for a week until the Friday immediately before it, and we still go to the same guy in Rochester that we were with before and right after Emily was born.

Some of it's loyalty to his practice- bad teeth run in my family, and he's taken care of them for the second half of my so-far life with far better results than anyone in the first half- but we also had a weird experience when we first moved here and did, for insurance reasons, switch to a local dentist. Even though his eyes lit up at first when he saw my teeth and the Delta Dental plan we were covered under, he proceeded, for the next several months, to stand us up for appointments- often enough that we went back to Ron and asked him to take us back at retail rates. (We had dental insurance that was not quite Delta  for a few years- it was more Gamma Quadrant quality- but we lost that in the COBRA shuffle a few years back and are back in the uninsured ranks when it comes to the chomper department.)

Best they could schedule on the short notice of yesterday was today. As in 8 a.m. today, meaning a departure well before 7. We made fine time, other than me habitually getting off 590 the wrong way to drive to our old house, and the hygienist was amazingly thorough with both of us. She leaves no plaque-covered stone unturned, and the combination of a souped-up waterpick (Delta-Sonic'ing of the teeth is what another patient calls it- that's a local car wash reference, son) and plenty of old-fashioned scaling made for a very productive hour for each of us.

We were home before lunch and I've cleared a few projects from the desk on the only day this week I didn't have anything particularly pressing on my schedule. Tomorrow is a quasi-official court holiday, but I'll still be banking and mailing and electronic-filing stuff.  And yes, flossing and using Listerine twice a day.

April Fools has gone by with little of note as the fooler or foolee. Earlier today, I did put up a baseball post of suspicious origin, and I just became a Fan of Glenn Beck on Facebook solely for the shock value, but the former has yet to attract a single giggle while the latter, even worse, has already resulted in strange crazy people trying to Friend me.

GET OFF MY WALL YOU LITTLE PINHEADS!!!!!!!
