captainsblog | Wasn't "Tawny Kitten" the name of a porn star?

We've all been noticing lately that our little black kitten, while still plenty little for a now-adult cat, is turning out to be anything but all-black:

The sun is out today after a fairly dismal weekend-into-Monday of weather, and all the animals have been heading for the sunny places. This shot really brings out the tawniness in her coat that's becoming more and more noticeable. As we knew, it does run in the family:

That was the ch-ch-chain of cats on the day we picked her up back in August, with Zoey near the top end and her orange brother (no doubt resembling the elusive Mr. Tom C. Anonymous who got her mommy into all this trouble back last spring) at the bottom.

Zo is also growing a bigger white patch under her chin, which had just been a couple of hairs early on but is now more and more resembling the one our original dear heart of a kitty had for all of her wonderful life.

I now have two books written by actual friends to read; Amazon delivered the one on the left yesterday-

-while the one on the right was actually available on its debut day today at our local Backswater & Noble. My goal is to finish them both this week and get them both autographed before the end of baseball season:)
