Just to clarify the previous entry:

I am looking forward to the Robin Hood movie.

I like Alan Doyle and think it awesome he has been cast as Allan A'Dayle.

I do not like flash-based trailers or embed codes when they do not work.

That said....

[livejournal.com profile] liddle_oldman made an observation in the comments about, perhaps, some question about the historical accuracy of some of the Hoodish events to be portrayed in the upcoming film.  That was all my evil brain needed to begin a list in my reply to his comment:

He was kinda the Chuck Norris of his day.

"Robin Hood shot an arrow into William Tell's DNA and split it into 92 chromosomes."

"Robin Hood can wear tight tights and they don't even look tight. Unless he wants them to."

"Robin Hood was once in an archery tournament, and the arrow lost."

C'mon now. Add more. Robin would want you to. You wouldn't want to make him angry now, would you?

*dreamy sigh*

(I saw the panto of Robin Hood here in Cardiff. Ergo, my thoughts about the character mostly involve the part where Robin goes to visit the Python version of Camelot, ice dancing with Maid Marion, various other bits of intertextuality, and the adaptation of local/regional identities onto the character).

Anyway: Robin Hood shot an arrow into the air, and it outpaced the Red Arrows.

Robin's stare could create a gale; his smile could cause rainbows in clear skies.

When Robin beat the Sheriff of Nottingham, it was felt as far away as Brighton, Southend-on-Sea, and John O'Groats.

Will Scarlet's tights weren't naturally red; Robin's martial prowess made them permanently blush.
