Well, shit on a snow turd.
Jan. 4th, 2010 01:42 pmPardon the lang-wedggggge, but it's about all I can think to say right now.
If you know me from Facebook, or if you followed this journal back in the fall, you've seen Janice- my oldest friend in the world. We met up when she flew into town in October for a conference down at Fredonia, where I provided her local transportation, she took care of the wine tab at the White Inn, and the barkeep took the picture I've had next to my status ever since:

She hadn't changed hardly at all in the 30 years since we were fast friends, or the roughly 20 since I last saw her. Just now, though, word came: she's at NY Presbyterian, with a just-discovered renal carcinoma.
Thank God they found it. Other than those thanks, though, me and God are in need of some serious conversing here.
She is brilliant. She is caring. She has touched so many lives of so many deserving people. She needs prayer, and most of all, Dude, she needs fair. Which this isn't.
I'm going back to work now. With difficulty.
