believeitup hadn't belonged to the UB choir (which I've never heard), and if she hadn't gone on the Road Trip from Hell with them (which I wasn't on), I might never have been introduced to the remarkable talents of this friend from NT. In fact, other than as part of a massive GBS-singalong crowd, I've never heard her sing. Yet I've seen it: in her words, which convey so much of who she is, how she's doing and what she's dreaming of- in this life and the next.
Since those days with snares in the Square, her life has taken her east, then south, and soon will point north, but so much of her heart will always remain here, where we, too, have found a home. When I am king, your life will bring you back here often, for reunions and memories and maybe even an excursion 'round the harbor to see Alan and the boys again, now that I know where the damn thing is.
Though your degrees look much like mine, your career path has followed more along the one my wife has taken, and there have been many days that I've shared your stories of the two masters you both serve- the customers and the management, both of whom, of course, are always right even when they're in complete contradiction of each other. We've smiled and sighed at those tales and always wish you well in them, and in all you do.
