Finishing touches
Dec. 20th, 2009 09:14 pmWe finished the MSTization of Twilight this afternoon; we'd gotten through about half of it before Cameron had to leave last night, and had marvelous fun with its ending moments today with just the three of us watching.
Other things that were essentially finished today:
* the Bills' season, and their near-total futility at the hands of New England for the entirety of this decade;
* the lights on our tree (there are still ornaments awaiting hanging and other assorted geegaws in need of placing);
* the Advent candles on the wreath at church, which all three of us were able to lead the congregation in lighting and hearing about; and
* a few hard feelings from the night before. Words were spoken, by everyone to everyone at one time or another, none of them particularly kind at the time. When Eleanor began the reading of the candle-lighting ritual from the mike at the lectern, the first words of it were, We gather around the advent wreath today, knowing that we are not perfect, that we all make mistakes and errors in our living. I saw that second when she looked back at the two of us standing there with her- as we always stand with each other, all imperfections and errors notwithstanding.
Only one court appearance this week that I know of. I will try to find time to get us out of the house, whether for groceries, dog walkies, or just randomness to break what I'm sure is one of the most monotonous stretches of a certain life usually way more lived than it's been since two Fridays ago.
