Conversation in the car earlier about the cat we rescued at the end of last month:
Me: Charlie's not on the SPCA website anymore. Hopefully he got adopted, or transferred to the Whisker Wagon. But no matter what, we saved him from three weeks of cold and wet and hungry and gave him a chance.
Em: Yeahhh.....
Me: And the timing was great, too. If he'd come around a couple of months later before we got Zoey fixed, who knows? She mighta gotten out like her own mommy did and then we'd have a house full of Ch-loeys.
Em: Ewwwwwww.....
Me: It's not a bad thing. You see, Em, when the mommy kitty and the daddy kitty love each other very much,....
Em: DAD! We're driving. To CHURCH.
Me: Hey. I need SOME kind of mortal sins to rattle off during confession.
Which we, actually, never even got to today. Between a very long musical prelude and an even longer dedication ceremony, the hourlong service was well into its second hour even before the Eucharistic Ritual began, itself usually a good 15-plus minutes long. The minister cut it back to more like five, but that worked only because the Bills game was a 4:15 start today. If it had been a 1:00 kickoff, they'd have called out, "Good food, good meat, Good God let's eat" and then shot the host into the air with potato guns and sprayed the Blood of Christ from the sprinkler system.
I am SO going to hell. Even though I Friended a priest on Facebook the other night. Maybe he'll give me the electric pew.
