Gaslight- the One Man Show
Oct. 5th, 2009 12:13 pmAfter more than two months of at least once-a-day blogging, I took a much-needed rest over the weekend. Much of it was spent recharging mental batteries and coming to the conclusion that those batteries are, quite possibly, defective.
I've been working on a CARE package for a Friend, which required me to prepare it in three pieces before sending off all three. I finished the first piece, smartly enough, sometime last week, and got the second part done yesterday. Only the first is missing. Completely. Looked for it hither and yon, doing a nice job of cleaning out a bunch of other useless crap in the process, but nuthin'. Fortunately, I just figured out a way to replace the first missing piece and adding the third to it, all enabling me to probably get it all shipped out tomorrow before I lose it all over again.
I also managed to lose the DVD I was using to record Dexter episodes, but there, too, since I can re-record the first one as well as the second on-demand, any more than about 59 minutes of effort over this blunder is entirely wasted time.
In between all the exploding brain cells, and despite the rain and the Bills, it was a nice weekend:

Other than my sister, there's nobody alive who I've known longer- and while we've fallen in and out of touch over the years, we picked up right where we left off from when I last saw her 20 years ago, when she came up to speak at a conference at Fredonia over the weekend. She runs a consulting business that connects parents of disabled schoolchildren with sources of support, therapy and advice. She has two beautiful boys, amazing gardens and some pictures of France that are to Morte d'Arthur for.
Also cleaned up a ton of crap off the desk and around the house, so at least it's clean here while I'm losing my mind.

Date: 2009-10-07 06:13 am (UTC)I hate losing things! This seems to be a more frequent deal with me...bleh! Glad you were able to salvage it.
The loss of anything Dexter is tragic, but glad you can re-record.
