Our Lady of Perpetual Motion
Oct. 1st, 2009 11:55 pmA day that began over 12 hours ago with a late-morning court appearance just ended, for all intensive purposes.
I know that's grammatically incorrect, but then one of the longisher parts of our day today, or rather night tonight, was attending all of Emily's high school classes on our last-ever "Go to School Night," where her AP English teacher spent about two minutes of his 10-minute spiel punctuating his remarks with "um, you know."
On the other hand, with the exception of the book they're reading now, we have the entire AP English curriculum under this roof from either Eleanor or I, or often both of us, having read and retained and revered the work from our own past(s). And while neither of us had a copy of the leadoff work, Homer's Iliad, we do have a copy of Bluff Your Way in the Classics that I think Mel got me years ago, so that's close enough for school district work.
Speaking of Mel, welcome to her Friend, and uC's, and now mine,
bktheirregular, a fellow New York lawyer from Attica. The original one, not the prison one.
After getting home from that, I began a drinking game that was mind-numbing, highly humourous and possibly felonious. Fortunately, it didn't involve either driving or pr0n, so I think I'm likely safe.
I have to be up in six hours or so to take the kid to an SAT prep course. So I'll say gnight, even though the server is down.
Gnight, even though the server is down.

Finish the drink and get another one every time you get credit for completing the entire module;
Chug and yell "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING" every time the program either gives you incorrect advice or implies that doing something is okay (like giving out your own credit card number on an incoming phone call);
Finish all the wine at midnight when finally finishing the freakin thing.
