Child's gross proceeds from 9.5 hours of garage sale today: 10 dollars.

Life lessons learned: priceless.

----

I'm settling back into the pattern of recent months. This week was batshit insane: three court appearances (a fourth postponed at the last minute), three client appointments, plenty of backlog to work on.

Next week, as of this moment: nothing, nada, geshphincto.

Labor Day week, as of the moment: building to the following week crescendo, with court dates already set for Tuesday and Friday.

September 14-18: Same hell, different week- already three hearings on three straight days in three separate courts, and a fairly vital meet-and-greet out of town the day after that, plus another court appearance in a fourth court location out of town that could be as soon as that same Thursday (in a different out-of-town as the meet-and-greet) and, with my luck, will be. Oh, and in between the second and the third, both in and near Rochester? I may be invited to read at a Met blogger event in Manhattan and, if I confirm the other dates, I will confirm that date as well.

Beyond that, not much, other than our anniversary, which never qualifies as "not much."

----

Two nights this week, I've had wicked insomnia around 2 a.m. The earlier one, I kinda understood: I'd missed my morning cuppa getting out to court early and tried to compensate with two afternoon caffeine blasts that, I think, wound up waking me in the wee ones. Last night, though? No clue. Work is busy but fine, I'm not feeling any particularly worse-than-usual stress, but something kept my eyes bolt-open for long past Cinderella time last night.

At least I won't be worrying about how much of the garage sale proceeds to ask Emily to save for her college fund.
