...a 9:30 hearing in Geneseo that ended with a true kissing-your-sister taste to it (not that there's anything wrong with my sister;) and a 1:00 appointment here in Rochester which I may or may not have but I better damn be here for in case I do have it.

Make thee an arc of gofer wood; rooms shalt thou make in the arc, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

I never knew Noah had a series on Showtime.  But for now, at least, Nurse Jackie still does. I'm facing that grim reality that after three more episodes (four, counting the one that "airs" tonight at 10:30 but which we've already seen on-demand), this amazing cast and collection of stories is gonna go away for an entire year. Hopefully without some hideous cliffhanger that will turn my skull into even more mush for that duration.

There've been so many arcs they've been weaving together, ever so gently, throughout the nine we've seen so far. Previews for Episode 10 hint that most of them will begin falling in on each other, and tightening the woven fabric, beginning with what we will watch tomorrow night.  Given the amounts of stress, blood, sharps and meds in this hospital, it's likely somebody's gonna get hurt or worse before the curtain falls in two weeks; since they have still not introduced an unsympathetic major character (and Edith Prickley's diva daughter is about the only purely unsympathetic minor character I can recall so far), I will likely be sad to find Bad Things happening to any of them. Even Coop.

Brief summary of the August 2009 [livejournal.com profile] captainsblog world tour:

Tuesday August 18 (late) to 19 (as long as the doctors need me to stay with her): at sister's in Binghamton for scheduled surgery she's having

Thursday August 20: cross into New England, possibly stopping in Connecticut depending on status of niece's baby

Friday August 21: Massachusetts Day, including a super-sekrit mission and some reconnecting with one or more old friends up yondah

Saturday August 22: Back through Hartford and into Points Metro North, making my usual extended train trip to get to I Still Call It Shea Stadium for that afternoon's observance of the Mets' first world championship's 40th anniversary, probably continuing to stay there for an actual game at 7 against the Phillies unless that's against medical advice

Sometime Sunday, probably ass-early: home again, jiggety jog

If you're on or near that itineration, get in touch. Drinks and coffees, if nothing else, can be had.
