One day at a time
Jul. 29th, 2011 04:27 pmZe blog, eet ees bettair, but we're not completely out of the Russian Woods yet. I seem only to be able to load maybe a quarter-to-third of my page before it just cuts off, the sidebar is gone, and comments are streaky. Still, it beats the heck out of 24 hours ago.
The morning was nasty, boorish and long. Two court appearances, a little over an hour apart, neither resulting in anything good (although, to be fair, I wasn't blown out of the water in one or the other of them, either), then a shlep back to my car in what turned out to be a totally torrential downpour. Hel-lo, dry cleaner!
Then I continued the almost-horrid-but-not-quite theme, meeting a client who met roughly 75 percent of my expectations with a promise of 50 percent more to be met within a week, and finally picking up Cameron's computer from a promised repair which has proven to be repaired, well, meh. It was a monitor issue, and while it's better than it was after some unknown sibling dropped the laptop on the ground, it's still wonkier than I'd have preferred. I suspect it means a trip back there next week, but since there's that other 50 percent to deal with, no great loss.
I will give Torchwood more of a chance. At this rate, expectations of good things are rather low.
