Surgery went fine. No ickies found.

Now it's just waiting for the stupid to wear off and for her to perform three simple tasks (I hope she remembers what her favourite colour is), and we're outta here.

In the 40 minutes in pre-op that I was there, she was visited by two OB/GYNs, two anaethesiologists, one surgical resident, no fewer than five nurses and I think there was a partridge in a pear tree in there somewhere.

I would also appreciate it if the medical profession did some dumbing-down of its terminology, to prevent nervous husbands from hearing "ectomy" at the end of a word that actually ended in "oscopy." My sister's worked with medical terminology since she was Emily's age, and it sounded perfectly logical to her; on the other hand, to follow a D&C with a hysterectomy would be, in her immortal words, "cleaning the house before you burn it down."

Barum bum.

We'll be home in time for lunch. She will then sleep a LOT better than she did last night.

Very good indeed. I've had a few D&Cs in my lifetime and the worst is always the "just before" not the "right after."

I hope she remembers her favorite color too; I'd hate to see her fly off a bridge.

Your sister is right...and very funny.
