On a bit or two of housekeeping, for one thing.

Welcome (if she cares to join the fun) one [livejournal.com profile] digitalemur, who commented about the same time as I did on one of [livejournal.com profile] liddle_oldman's entries earlier. By far the most endearing of the recent entries I found on her journal was one which recounted the complete list of license plates banned by the State of Ohio.  The seven-page .pdf download includes most of the F-variants you'd expect, along with a surprising refusal to let Ohioians express their unfavorable opinions of a certain "state up north," but several of them have me totally at a loss. Including:

FBLUOSU  (doesn't EVERYONE think The Ohio State University is fabulous?)

BEANRN (okay, the flatulence could be an issue, but if she's a nurse anyway,....)

USAFFM (Future Farmers?)

TORTA (these all look delicious to me)

I could go on. Any seem especially clever, or obscure, to you?

Also in the closest-to-home housekeeping, I wanted to plug Eleanor's blog here once more. She goes by [livejournal.com profile] plantmom, and many of you have Friended her, but at least one was wondering what her LJ name was. Wonder no more.

In the prospective time-wasting category, the DLM movie just arrived from its Very Long Wait!  I miss me my George.

THIS one,

not this one

ETAAnd guess what? The DLM movie's now streamable on Netflix! Nice to tell me that AFTER I've been saving a queuespot for it for most of the past two weeks /somethingIcantsayonanOhiolicenseplate

And just six hours to go until the momentous SUNY Binghamton upset of Duke.

The DLM made-for-DVD movie is a satisfying reprise and evolution of the TV series. It would bomb in theaters. What we need is some fan-fic to flesh-out the theme.

My favorite "iffy" license plate: PROBE ME. Seen on a Ford Probe in Kingsport, TN several years ago. Perhaps the owner was a proctologist?

If I'd chosen proctology over my life's work, I'd go with a vanity plate of

BOGART

(you don't want to scroll down)

(no, really)

(okay, fine)
