Two mornings ago, I awoke to a sore throat, a general blah-ish feeling, and the recollection of some of the weirdest dreams I'd had in months. The dreams receded, but the rest remained. Teh Sick Bullet I dodged in December has seemingly found me, and I'm not thrilled one little bit.

I kept to a relatively light schedule for the day, got to bed fairly early, and today entered Phase II- the throat feeling better but replaced with a headache and increased "snuffiness" that was noticeable to anyone I talked to. I had a 9:30 hearing today with the client waiting for me over an hour before that, so it was a bit more stressful on body and soul. I've bombed the head with Advil and have Nyquil at the ready for tonight, and am just hoping it doesn't get any worse before I have to head to Rochester again in two days.

----

We already know that there's something else on that journey that's gonna be worse. Although today has been sunny, snow-free and kinda pretty, there's a winter storm on the way promising anywhere from three inches to over half a foot of new accumulation, all the way from here to Central New York, going all day tomorrow and possibly into Thursday.

The timing is appropriate, too, since tomorrow will be the 32nd anniversary of the singly worst occasion of weather in our very annal-retentive annals of bad weather:

I didn't move upstate until that following fall, but we knew some people who were at UB that winter, and the stories made it downstate, on the news and through friends-of-friends, about just how destructive a storm that was.

And hey! They just announced that this January has been the coldest on record since, well, THAT one. Al Gore can stick his tongue on my frozen freakin' flagpole.

----

On the happier side, I picked up three new potential pieces of business today without even trying. Now I just have to get healthy enough to handle it.

It's global climate CHANGE, y'know. Not global warming.

Ooh, bleh, the sickness sucks. Hope it goes away very soon, and that the bad weather magically misses you. When I lived in Kingsport, TN, we were magically (or thermally) protected from snow by the giant chemical company there. I think the entire city was under a thermal bubble. Better living through chemistry.
