Very brief coming-up for air....
Nov. 18th, 2008 10:23 pmNot much to say these past few days. Short sentences should do.
Monday might have been my single most disheartening day of work in months.
Today was better.
I've begun reading Tristram Shandy. Thus far it seems the illegitimate ancestor of Finnegan's Wake and Lady Chatterley's Lover. More the first than the second.
WALL-E arrived today. Consequently, the kid will not be in bed until midnight.
Today's "No shit, Sherlock" story from the local paper, in its entirety:
A Parkwood Lane man was being treated Friday for a fractured skull after he was beaten outside a Chippewa district bar, Buffalo police said.
The attack occurred about 3 a. m., when Jared N. Underberg, no age listed, was slammed against the sidewalk at Delaware Avenue and West Chippewa Street, police said. Underberg was taken to Erie County Medical Center. Police said the attacker — described as a 6-foot tall, blond-haired white male wearing a “security” T-shirt— may be a bouncer.
In other news, the 44 men who embarrassed themselves on national television on ESPN, wearing "Buffalo Bills" uniforms- may have been professional football players. But I doubt it. Losing a heartbreaking game on a 47-yard field goal that went wide right? That's not Monday Night Football, that's ESPN Classic.
Somebody is faxing me something at 10:28 p.m.
My advice toyou me, is to start drinking heavily.
Court in 12 hours. Toodles.
