It's one thing for a kloset Klansman at a whip-em-up Palin rally to shout "kill him!" about Obama, or for a nutjob rightwing blogger to be as offensive as us nutjob leftwing bloggers. These are not those. These are authorized postings of recognized Republican organizations- and in deeply liberal California, no less.

From the official website of the Sacramento County Republican Party, we got this:

Naturally, the chickens took down the posting when they got caught (their entire website is down at the moment), but it's so good to know that our opponents are such broad-minded and tolerant individuals.

Speaking of chicken, the Ladies Auxiliary of yet another California GOP group thought THIS would be a real side-splitter:

According to ABC:

the Chaffey Community Republican Women, Federated, in California, envisions a President Barack Obama putting his face on food stamps, surrounded by a watermelon, ribs and a bucket of fried chicken.

"Obama talks about all those presidents that got their names on bills," reads the newsletter. "If elected, what bill would he be on????? Food Stamps, what else!"

That quote from the newsletter was from the group's president, Diane Fedele, who, after the story broke was shocked, SHOCKED!, to hear charges of racism going on in her establishment:

"[I]t was strictly an attempt to point out the outrageousness of his statement. I really don't want to go into it any further. I absolutely apologize to anyone who was offended. That clearly wasn't my attempt.

"I didn't see it the way that it's being taken. I never connected," she says. "It was just food to me. It didn't mean anything else."

Hey Diane! What's the difference between a Sacramento asshole and one from Chaffey County?
