* A Friend in a similar northern clime posted a picture today of a shut-down business, a true sign of depressed economic times in her locale:



To which I felt compelled to reply:

Oh, ours closed, too. I think the beginning of the end was when they opened a Friendlys ice cream place in the storefront next to it.

Little kids must've been going in the wrong door and wound up licking the wrong cones.

* I just got back from an appointment with a new client at which I was stood up. "NSNC" is how I code them in my notes- for "no show no call," just like my supervisors used on me at my work-study job 100 years ago. Fortunately, I'd brought the Ratty Old Laptop to get some work done while I waited. It involved writing a nastygram to a potential defendant in a lawsuit I may be referring out.  The guy's name is Newby.

So naturally, when I saved the file to transfer it back here, I named it....

Just before I was about to send this, my friendspage refreshed and I learned of the sudden death of a cat belonging to one of my dearest Friends here. I thought about not bringing teh funny in sympathy, but then decided that would be the totally wrong way to go. So instead I ask for prayers for Kimmy (the human one), Sabrina (the departed one) and all her loved ones, of two- and four-paw persuasion, who loved and will miss her.
