Our older dog was a stray (they think for close to a month before we got her in 2001). She hates any kind of rain and is terrified of thunderstorms.  The Floridific weather we've been having the past couple of weeks has been really hard on her.

Yesterday, best as we can tell, it didn't rain or thunderboom at all, but we think she's been so conditioned by the daily bursts, she spends almost all her waking hours pacing around like a condemned prisoner.

It's gotten to the point that I'm actually considering medication. Has anyone tried these?

Sis's dog takes phenabarbitol for epilepsy, but it does have a sedating effect. Not sure if that would be appropriate for your doggie.

Never tried anything endorsed by SNL. :) But I did used to give Dexter valium in a hotdog for storms and fireworks. I don't know how much good it did, but it made me feel better.
