I feel kinda hypocritical, now I'm a couple audio-hours into Hunger Games, and here is what I've heard:

* Children, 12 to 18 are chosen through a complex procedure;

* Said process is managed, at least in District 12, by Dolores Umbridge's twin sister;

* The chosen kids set upon a train to take them on a journey to a far-off place nobody really knows anything about.

Throw in the hunting for game and the strange terminology and you suddenly start looking for Voldemort behind every tree.

Long day. That's all I've got.

You're sort-of right. The beauty is in the ending, trust me. :)

Honestly, the movie left me cold. By the time they actually got to the Hunger Games (the name was never explained in the movie), I'd stopped caring.

I didn't care for the books. I've never been into dystopian themes.

I can relate to that. After eight years of Bush, it's all still a little redundant.

Trust me, it gets better.

Oh, and in the next chapter?

Katniss:: "The girl who was on fire"= Harry::

(a) "The boy who lived"
(b) "The boy with the pearl earring"
(c) "The boy vey"
(d) All of the above.

I hated the book, I gotta say. Not for this reason, just because I thought the writing was not good (although I could have overlooked that), but the premise itself was just too much grimness for me.
