Ah, but this one does. 'Tis been a long couple of evenings and I am in need of hay.
- Congratulations to all winners of the Hummer puzzler. The "small" amount on the gauge must've been the amount from his second effort after either the $99.99 limitation of the pump, or a similar limit on his credit card, required him to go back to the oil well a second time.
- The mp3 player arrived! For reasons lost to somebody else's comment page, it has duly been named "Elvis," and has been fitted quite smartly into its very cute blue wetsuit.
- For a variety of reasons which I will probably elaborate on later, I did not rise early today for the non-midnight screening of Rocky Horror, nor will I be holding on for its final midnight show in 90-odd minutes. Rather, the three of us saw Wall-E, which is every bit as good as its press clips. On a per-word-of-dialog basis, it may be the best motion picture ever made.
- I was about to futz around with the DVR upon seeing someone mention that in a little over an hour, NBC is rerunning the debut 1975 episode of the comedy show now (but not then) known as Saturday Night Live, which George Carlin hosted. Then I remembered that I already OWN the flippin' thing. If you don't, you should watch. Not even Doctor Who changed a generation of television the way that show did in its early days.
- Mea culpas to the dear Friends whose birthdays I have not noted this week, especially Kimmy's, whose 40th today deserves far more than I can fit on this remaining line. I shall try to make up for these transgressions in days ahead.
- I am physically incapable of discussing the Mets.
- Buenos nachos.

Date: 2008-06-29 03:09 am (UTC)Glad you got your MP3 player. May you experience many hours of jam time on it.
I don't own but have seen the SNL broadcast with George Carlin. They all look so young, and they had no idea what they were about to start.
Sorry about "Rocky Horror," but glad to know that Wall-E is as good as it looks. C is dying to see it, so we'll do that when my life slows down a bit.
Don't worry, bluesilverkdg had a great birthday, because apparently she looks like she's 26. Darn her.
