Triumph the Comic OS Insulter
Jun. 25th, 2008 09:09 pmI have to make a rather uncool confession: on a word-count basis, I really don't enjoy Neil Gaiman's blog feed all that much. I love his writing, his thought processes, and the topics he chooses, but most of his entries go on too long uncut, he regularly wrecks my friendspage with bad code, and I'm not much a fan of his frequent "bloggers to the editor" format.
That said, when he does nail an observation, it's like him using a nail gun against an ape banging the rocks together.
Case in point: this totally deadpanned observation of his from an entry earlier today.
With the help of the webgoblin, I recently upgraded my Panasonic W7 from Windows Vista to Windows XP, and it now runs like a dream. It's nice not to have to wait for words to appear once more.
I was on the phone this afternoon with my own computer guru over a variety of minor issues, and while I usually don't share my bloglife with workpeople, I had to pass along that piece of Bizarro Universe-ness with him. He congratulated Neil on doing it; most people find the upgrade from Vista to XP to be really difficult.
::makes note to add a Wikipedia link to this entry in the future after Vista has been totally smitten, so the irony in the above will make more sense::
