You know the one. Post in the comments of this entry and ask for a letter, and I'll give you one, and you post five songs that start with that letter.
Lins hasn't been keeping up with her backlog. But she will. She did! I got the L outta there!
Love Used to Be a Friend of Mine-Jim Capaldi was a founding member of traffic and an axeman of renown for many years after that. This is one of the many moving pieces on his first solo album. Sadly, he's no longer with us.
Life Holds On-Beth Neilsen Chapman is an amazing pianist/ singer-songwriter. This is the first track from her first album and an affirmation we think of every week- lately, more like every day.
Lonesome Blues-the Be Good Tanyas are one of the many bands that good people like you here have introduced me to. I think these guys came from somebody else, but they somehow seem your speed, so here you go:)
Love is the 7th Wave+Arch of Abundant Love-and these, likewise, are the Duhks, perhaps the best damn bluegrass band from the land of Tim Hortons, eh? I think I found them on Amie Street, where all these tracks start out free and get bid up from there.
And finally, a guilty pleasure: Let's Talk Dirty to the Animals-another Aw-Poo-She's-Daid artist, but how can you be TOO sad when Gilda Radner left behind good shit like this? The recording came later, but the original song predates her SNL days, back when she was doing National Lampoon radio with more talented people than even we will ever meet.

Date: 2008-06-10 10:56 pm (UTC)2. What the furthest north you've ever been, and how much did y'all hate them there? Manhattan is the most northern place I've visited, and most people were nice enough. They are in a BIG hurry, though.
3. Suprise me with a piece of music I wouldn't expect you to like. "Down to the River to Pray" by Allison Krauss
4. What's your second favorite color: Red
5. If a Nigerian businessman really did give you a million dollars what would you do with it? Well, it'd be tax-exempt, of course, for starters. Then I'd give 100,000 to the Conservative Anglican Council, pay off all my debts and those of my family members, buy a concert grand Steinway piano, and a Kurzweil digital piano, pay C's tuition to the college of her choice, build a firing range for Bill and let hime do some shopping for a new rifle, build a new house, this could take a while....
