Fall Moon. Or is it Fail?
Aug. 29th, 2012 09:56 pmThat thar satellite has been big and beautiful the past few nights. And, perhaps, it claims responsibility for all kinds of crap in and around our lives.
Eleanor's posted about some of these experiences, or no doubt will. Last night, coming home from work, she basically filled in for the Amherst Police Department in organizing the response to a two-car accident which did not, blessedly, involve her.
While she was doing that, I was at my third and final baseball game of the season- likely the final ever appearance of Mets minor leaguers in our local ballpark. Pictures from that are here.
Earlier today, Eleanor went off to work mid-afternoon while I resumed a Herculean effort to refinance our mortgage. Both of us had thrilling afternoons subsequent to that, but she got home first, just in time to discover that our younger pup Ebony had, likely, feasted on a pre-dinner nosh of Rat Poison Flambé, courtesy of a neighbor's extermination efforts. The dog seems better now, but there was more than a little cleaning up to do, inside and out, as Radar O'Reilly once said.
Tomorrow, I head to Rochester again to help install a router in the kids' apartment, after tackling a major piece of discovery on my desk. (Em called several times in the past few days with issues over a television I'd secured for them, but she fixed most of them earlier today All By Herself #proud.) The refi should be pre-submitted before I leave.
For the first time since June, our AC has been off for almost an entire calendar day. Labor Day is fast approaching and, with it, the unofficial start of another season. Since it will bring our 25th anniversary and yet another birthday for me, I welcome it with open, if slightly cooler, arms:)
