I've kind-of lost track of the goings-on at PBS's Monsterpiece Theatre Just Masterpiece, Please, We're British, in the years since they lost their corporate sponsorship and pretty much killed off all the Mystery franchises I used to love.

Ah, but now comes news from the world of Alistair Cookie.

Kim Cattrall was the celebrity guest on this week's Wait Wait, and she was plugging not just her Sex in the City film, but her turn this coming Sunday as Rudyard Kipling's wife (named Carrie, just to confuse us all) in the biopic My Boy Jack.

This would be Jack:

Yes, our little wizard is growing up.  Cattrall gives Radcliffe rave reviews for his acting skillz, and thinks he's definitely overcome the potential for typecasting.

There is no truth to the rumor that JKR is suing the Kipling estate, claiming that "Gunga Din" is actually the name of a spell she used in an early draft of Philosopher's Stone.

I'll be watching. Hell, at the rate petrol prices are going up here, maybe Mobil Corporation could afford to give them a "grahnt" to make this into a series.

Heck, Radcliffe was in Equs. He's already done some growing.

And didn't the real Jack Kipling get pink-misted? Hard to come up with an Act Two.

We saw My Boy Jack when they showed it here a short while ago. It really wasn't bad at all.
