I'm exhausted, and have been since I got back from the mail run at 5:30. No standout reason for it: I worked out this afternoon, yeah, after running all around courts and client meetings this morning; and I'm sure the anticipatory stress of Tax Day is looming (no change there, better or worse, from where I thought I'd be, and things will, I now know, be improved in about a week).

Little to report, though, from nonwork life, or from the fam (Em is off school this week, bored out of her tree and now out of the house entirely), or from any of my usual pop-cultury fixes. So I'll instead share That Joss Chick again, only this time "live" in a two-part QuickTime interview that just got posted at authormagazine.org. (I found it worked better to download each and view them offline, although in theory a browser can process these as readily as it can do Youtubes.)

Part I is mostly about the new book, while Part 2 talks more about her writing in general as well as Writing In General. At the end, she offers one tip to the would-be n00b at publishing (defined earlier in the clip as being very different from writing): don't market your book, or query an agent, until you are well under way with your next project. It's easier on your own psyche, and also makes you a happier camper around the people holding the sideways thumb on your destiny based on whether it rotates 90 degrees up or down.

Pay no attention to the misspelling of her name at the start of Part I. Nobody's prefect.
