1,648 characters of utter randomness

I typed this in Word, so that’s a correct count. If, you know,  Microsoft knows what it’s doing.

Forget “Food Glorious Food.” Today is “Off Glorious Off.” After three straight days on the road to end last week, followed by almost all of yesterday spent in The Office catching up with the fallout from that, and with the sight of at least three more days away this coming week? Today is quiet, and blissfully homebound.

We’d made plans to spend the day in Rachacha today, but they didn’t pan out. One of our dearest friends of longest standing (we both knew her in the church we met in, 22 years ago) was supposed to be performing in The Vagina Monologues today at St. John Fisher College. That’s right- a friend we know from church, at a Catholic college, yet. (I googled that combination to find a link to the performance, but all I found were a bunch of Catholic League-type message boards about how blasphemous the prior years’ performances were.)

Sadly, she won’t get to be in the show today, as she’s taken ill with the flu.  Somehow, the “Aunt Flu” joke doesn’t really fit the subject matter.

Last week was busier, and also better, than its predecessor. I still need to do some major ass-kicking in the coming weeks so I can pay for all your damn tax refunds, but the seeds have been planted.

Speaking of seeds, most of the mock brackets I’ve seen have Cornell as a 13 or 14. Can we have a few more sucky teams win their conference tournaments today so we can push that up to a 12 or better, pleasepleaseplease?
