Winning his third gold medal in the 4.5 kg Stupid Cat competition:
Yup, that's him, in slightly better days. Since I had his vet folder out anyway, I answered my own question about when his first veterinary disaster was, and also noticed the disturbing trend reflected since:
January 2002- String Swallow Incident I, with surgery: $2,300
March 2005- Blockage At The Other End, not quite with surgery: $1,000
February 2008- String Swallow Incident II, no surgery: $1,400 (as of now)
Cute factor that keeps us spending all this on one pile of brainless fur: priceless.
He comes home this afternoon. He's doing much better but, if he lives another three years, I am locking him in a crate for the entire freaking winter.

Date: 2008-02-08 03:19 am (UTC)I wanted to get it on Dexter, but because of his seizures and arthritis, he did not qualify. Same with Sabrina and her asthma. I could get it on any of the others, but since none of them ever get sick, it would be kinda pointless.
Anyway...glad he's doing better. And y'know, if Oreo wasn't spayed, we should totally mate those two. She's also a string-eater, but thankfully none of her "swallows" have warranted a trip to the vet. Actually, she mostly prefers hair. I can always tell what Oreo has left in the litterbox. It's usually two pieces of poo connected by a long strand of my hair.
