The kids got the apartment. Move-in is in two weeks. They sign the lease on Thursday.

AND Cameron got his transfer. Not to the Wegmans a block away (they put it in before they'd even seen this place), but six miles is a heck better than 60 for commuting.

AND the humidity finally broke. The only down side of that is yesterday's Bison game got rained out, and with it a chance to see a highly touted Met prospect in his final minor league debut.

I'm in such a good mood, I'm about to attempt a home repair.

I learned tons more about life when I signed on that first dotted line and had to become so much more responsible for so much more.

So, I think, it will be with them:)

Thanks. It's been slow water torture the past few days, waiting for them to make a final decision. The final holdup was over them not having the co-signer's social security number (the key in our world to checking peoples' credit). Turned out their application didn't ask for it. SMH.

Too late. Fortunately, it was small, and quick, and hasn't fallen off the wall yet.

Speaking of falling off things: I was just wondering how you were. I'm driving through Nutmeg two weekends from now (midafternoonish on Sunday the 19th), and if you're around and up to some eat or drinkage, I'd love to meet ya:)

Aw man. I'd love to get together, but that weekend is already lining up to be non-stop "fun." And when I put a word in quotes you know it's pretty much the opposite. I think I'm already signed up to drive my kid to NJ and possibly help my in-laws with a few things. For most people summer is relaxing. When yoo own a horse farm it's anything but.

LOL DON'T HURT YOURSELF :D

Seriously though, woohoo! That's great news - 6 miles is a very reasonable commute and yay apartment!

Whenever the compulsion to do home repair strikes, I've found it best to lie down until the feeling passes.

I find I spend less time in hospital emergency rooms that way...

Nuthin major. Our shower curtain surrounds the outside and back wall of the enclosure with a roughly-right-angled rod held up at the two corners by wall-mounted brackets. The one nearest the showerhead has never been a problem, but the bracket at the other end takes most of the load and the teeny set-screw that holds it in just gets stripped over time, so I replaced the bracket and the screw. Five minutes, no deaths.
