Kept getting up, almost on the hour, for a bunch of last night, including right before midnight, when it seemed that the last minutes of July were being slowly dragged through a sausage grinder before the clocks finally tolled twelve.

It wasn't a bad month (unless your employer is Sterling Mets LP, anyway), but I'm still glad to see it go.

We accomplished a lot of things last month.  Also, we failed to accomplish at least one important one, which is why I'm heading out on the road shortly, primarily to help shepherd the kids around a bunch more Rochester apartments today. This time, they're going with more outlying complexy-type places- some closer to RIT than the city neighborhoods they'd been looking in, one a bit on the other side of town from it. The one I'm looking at on street view right now is perhaps the closest to school and is a block away from a Wegmans. Might be a plan.

Her financial aid finally posted, so we know how much we have to work with, more or less.

----

Things will also be moving next door. The long-awaited estate-sale-but-she's-not-dead is this weekend, and we've been told to expect massive crowds.  Hell, if we get locked into an August 1 lease today, I may just move into the damn place until Sunday morning to stay away from the madness.

----

Church has been relatively insane this week. We bought into one half of a farm-share that our new not-quite-associate-pastor organized, so that means being there every Sunday for the next 16 weeks to help deliver bags of vegetables. I've been in a phalanx of meetings and interviews and staff-member dustups all week, all timed perfectly for our minister's three-week vacation. And, a week from Sunday, I'm preaching and running the entire service. Fun times.

----

After all that, though, I get to get away from it-all for at least a few days. Tickets for the two ballgames are taken care of, I know where I'm going to be for at least half the nights in question, and after the assorted agitas of July, it will be nice to do some mindless stuff for a few days.

"Help shepherd" indeed. Evidently, I'm still very much on the payroll, as you said. Not that I mind, but sheesh, does she think I'm the only parent who can think through logistical stuff? Okay, I know, Charlie's my brother, and Cam and I share an employer. I'll stop whining now. Maybe.
