This journal may have cast doubt on the efficiency of Texas law enforcement officers, both real and fictional, in its previous entry, but National Public Radio has now directed us to a story of Lone Star police work full of quick thinking, imagination, and damn derring-do:

According to this past week's Wait Wait, Texas police were called to the site of a burglary at a seemingly abandoned warehouse. The department's crack staff caused the suspect to call out his location within the building by calling out a single word to him, and no, that word was not "FIRE!"

Rather, it was....
