I hereby claim responsibility for ending, if not the Sabres' recent losing streak, at least their singularly annoying habit of surrendering the first goal of the game.

We were supposed to have the Avatarfest here tonight, but it got moved at the last minute, so I got to put the game on for the first time in an age.

Much as I love Rick and (now) Harry, Friday nights usually call for a bit more melodious background, so we turn on MSG with the captions on and play CDs.

Before the puck dropped, Eleanor chose a Smiths record.

I knew we needed more help than that, so I went with Great Big Sea's Something Beautiful.

Before we even got to "Helmethead," we'd scored the first goal- first of three in the first 20 minutes.

I think we're gonna be okeh.

Heh...wonder if Van Halen would work for UT? They need something to rev them up during the first half of play. These last minute combacks in the second half are killing my nerves.
