Spring is sprung, the grass is riz....
Apr. 29th, 2007 06:28 pmAl Gore was in town the other night, and in a departure from many of his other recent tour stops, it didn't snow. That said, our heat was still coming on as of about four hours ago, but that's been fixed. The house is open, the cats are reveling in the breeze (the remaining two of them even getting slightly cuddly with each other, be still my beating heart) and we may actually have the genuine globally-warmed article here on the penultimate day of April.
I tried to think of something useful to do while the Sabres game was on today, so I cleaned the refrigerator. Close to the action, easily stopped in the event of a goal (not often) or a penalty (a bit more of an occurrence). During one of the intermissions, I did some reconaissance in the back yard, now that our trees are finally starting to come into bud.
Outside the window of this office is a somewhat unwieldy Russian olive tree. It took the worst hit of any during our storm, with one of its main branches almost breaking off and, even now, hanging in space with a break through half its diameter. I tried to figure out which pruner to use to cut it down, and then I saw....
the damn thing is flowering.
Guess I'm getting some kind of tree goop to heal the wound, huh.

Yeah, we lost. But I figure if it takes more than a game-and-a-half of clock time for the Rangers to beat us at the Gawden, and we keep winning in regulation at home, we're good.

I suck at lyric games. Now, so can you:)
