One of our cats got out during the night, and many other happy joy things are going on personally right now /sarcasm.

But then this happened:

A woman was shot to death outside the Erie County Medical Center towers this morning, prompting authorities to lock down the hospital as a huge police presence converged on the campus to find the killer.

Buffalo police late this morning said they are trying to find a "person of interest" wanted for questioning in the shooting.

He was identified as Timothy Jorden Jr., 49, of Lakeview, described as a bald, black male, about 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds. Police also said Jorden, a trauma surgeon with a military background, could be "special weapons trained."

This is the last hospital Eleanor went to. The last one Cam went to. I got nuthin else but prayers.

That explains my cousin's FB status this morning. She used to work there, and was wishing safety to her former co-workers. :(

Shootings in the area aren't uncommon-- we'd hear weapons fire occasionally from the ambulance ramp. I've not heard of any on the grounds, though. :(
