Inventor of Remote Control Dies at 93
Cremation arrangements were handled in Boise under the direction of the Cremation Society of Idaho. His remains were left on the back of the sofa and will eventually be lost underneath the cushions.

Holy Overreaction!
School officials in a Phoenix suburb put three entire schools on lockdown after a student reported a sighting of Batman crossing the middle school grounds, leaping a fence and running off into the desert. Police searched the desert for the approximate 6'3", presumed male Caped Crusader but found no traces of him except for a bit of guano.
----
39 Wins, 15 Losses, 5 OT points, 3 Players Left
The Buffalo Sabres conclusively established the exchange rate for attaining the best record in the NHL last night. After two straight games where they won (earning two points in the standings for each) but also lost two players to injury in each win, they earned a single point in an overtime shootout loss to the Boston Bruins and lost only one player, Ales Kotalik, to what is being termed only a "lower-body injury."
At this rate, by the Ides of March, the Sabres will have clinched home ice throughout the playoffs but will be running out a first line consisting of Rick Jennaret, Darcy Regier's second cousin Claude, and Sabretooth, who will be put on injured reserve after his first appearance with an unspecified "lower-tail injury."
