Before going oot and aboot. To compute....
Feb. 5th, 2007 01:43 pm(Yes, to the Hall, Robin! Yes, to get and type in a copy of a deed description. Yes, he's doing real estate again. This time donating a building to a non-profit. Worthy cause, right? Shouldn't be any problems with this one, right? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, right?)
Heh. Maybe in this Mr. Freeze of a day, I'll die of exposure and my evil plan to offload my real estate practice can come to fruition.
Anyway, brief pimpage whilst the car warms sufficiently for the oil to circulate.

I commented a la Cleo earlier, and actually brought large portions of happiness to her impossibly huuuge Flist. In case anyone's not in that loop, I repeat it here. Never did find that elusive tool to upload from mpgs or DVDs into an editable form, but if you've got, say, a YouTube clip you want to watch through something other than your browser, here's your answer:
http://media-convert.com/
Give it a file name from your puter, or an URL, tell it what it is, tell it what you want it to be, say "Mecca lecca hi, mecca hiney ho," and out comes a downloadable version in the format you asked.
Among the useful things one can convert to with this, I'm told? YouTube to MP3. Granted, the video would suck, but for iPodding around town it seems kinda nice.
DISCLOSURE/DISCLAIMER: This program, if you give it a filename, will look around on your computer. The resulting product is a download, which you will presumably put onto your computer. I have only limited familiarity with whether the site or proggies do anything other than what they say they do. Use on your own stuff at your own risk. Void in Nebraska.

Here's my other time waster du jour: someone has come up with a "last words" contest for Deathly Hallows. The versions currently running ask you to predict the last words by (or about) Snape if he either lives or dies. There are some simply mahvelous ones on both lists (mine came early and are, to be honest, fairly lame compared to some that followed):
Snape lives.
Snape dies.
There are many repeats on both, since the poll asked you to submit your answer before seeing the others. Deal.
Meanwhile, the similar book on Voldy is already closed, with over 200 responses all assuming his demise. The best of those are here, along with links to the two ongoing ones.
----Reverse pimpage needed: does anybody have the .gif icon of JKR saying, "Fuck it. Rocks fall, everyone dies," followed by HP and HWMNBN going "huh?!?" I only saw the damn thing 8 gagilliondy times when I didn't have an entry to post it with, and now I can't track it down:P ETA Speaking of rocks, as in usage as verb:
angledge does. M'thanks, m'luv.
We're thawed and ready to roll. Icebergs fall, everybody catches cold.

What was the content again? Oh yeah, I think this is the icon you are looking for.
