First, the stupid story of the day, courtesy of this week's News of the Weird:
In October in Cincinnati, lines once again formed well in advance of the grand opening of a Chick-fil-A restaurant, populated in part by out-of-town customers who chase openings around the country much as rock fans follow their favorite groups on tour. As usual, there were tents, sleeping bags, lawn furniture and portable generators in evidence. "We've been planning it for two weeks," said a 24-year-old woman from New Richmond, Ind., who was there with her grandmother. (The first 100 in line received coupons worth $260.)
Okay, Karissa, fine. I've now experienced this. Even the correct sammich the second time. But Chick-fil-A groupies?!?
----
Second, my qualifications for reporting on stupid stories.
I just went to retrieve the mail. In it was a Netflix video. This came as something of a surprise, since I'd only just mailed back my two at-home movies in yesterday's mail, and I was pretty sure they didn't process over the weekend. Still, not wanting to look a gift film in the mouth, I opened it, to discover....
Addams Family Values. One of the two at-home movies I mailed back yesterday.
To myself.
Takes talent to be this dumb.
