Just in case I turn out to be the first to say it:

"There is no iPod. Only Zune."

(Sheesh, Gates even looks like Rick Moranis in that movie, doesn't he?)

----

Woke up this morning to a weird dream (details down the memory hole, as usual, but something about broken computers and drunken outbursts, the two not necessarily connected). Turns out the Flist was also full of Teh Weerd in the dream department last night, as well.  Mine were probably influenced by the two things I've watched over the past two nights: the beginning of Helen Mirren's Prime Suspect Final Act (which would explain the drinking part) and a 2000 film I somehow missed called Frequency (similarly explaining the misbehaving electronic equipment).

I'll reserve on the former until I'm done with the whole business, which won't be until next week, but that movie? Wow. It's got everything: sweetness, suspense, the 1969 Mets playing an important role in the plot (that's how I found it, while trying to replace a picture I'd been hotlinking to on the baseball page), a Quantum-Leap-level use of time-travel string theory, and of course the Son of God. Granted, in this one he's just the Son of Frank, but James Caviezel plays one of the leads in the film.

----

Maybe my weird-dreaminess is also influenced by SADness.  Not the literal kind, although there've been some moments, including our minister having to put down one of her beloved cats yesterday. Far more, I worry, the Seasonal Affective Disorder kind, since that big yellow ball in the sky has been absent for most of the past week. No snows or pelting rains or houses falling on wicked-witch winds, but just constant drizzle, and just cold enough to make it blah.  I wonder if one of those lamps would help.

Uh oh.

Just checked my Amazon order from hell. After two months, they've split it, so I've been charged for, and will now be getting, the Carbon Leaf and Carlin albums I ordered. But could they leave it at that? Noooooo. They had to tempt me with this:

Double-live Great Big Sea CD/DVD combo. Out a week from today.

Ooh.

Paid users get an extra week added on account of the day's power outage. But you have to claim it.

It's about time for my brother-in-law's annual call about whether he'll be joining us for Thanksgiving. With our other two living siblings (one sister apiece) 200 miles away and my nieces well beyond that, Charlie's about the only related company we get to see with any regularity. We love him dearly, but he's got a lot of what Freud called "stuff" to work on. I fear this year may be particularly stuffy; his employer is one of the Rochester hospitals which just announced a complete ban on smoking throughout their complexes. No ashtrays on the lawn, no smokers' huts on the perimeter, not even in your own car in the parking ramp. He can't get through an hour at our house without having to go outside at least twice, so this is gonna be rough on him.

----

Speaking of said-Giving, is it possible it's only a week and two days from now? It seems to have come out of nowhere.

The paragraphs are getting shorter.

Bye.

I loved Frequency. A great movie. Enjoy your Amazon order. I must stay away from Amazon unless I have money to spend. Amazon is literary/audio heroin for me!
