Power's back.

Broadband's on.

Frank N Puter works!

(Well, other than its CD drive not responding for some D-A reason. But still. I'll take it, man!)

ETA. CD's power got jostled on the trip home. Vinny talked me through fixing it on the phone. Broadband's been wonky but ok for now. This keyboard is taking major getting used to.

We were so late on the restoration curve- they might've been into the last hundreds of remaining customers out of the 260-something thousands originally knocked out- we had news crews outside trying to interview us. Between the dogs barking and me being totally disgusting-looking in the middle of a fish-tank cleaning, I passed on my 15 seconds of fame. Amazingly, so did the kid.

Quick wayback: we escaped from all this last night by the three of us plus Em's friend Kaits going out to dinner (Scotch & Sirloin, mmmm triple bypass special prime rib) and then to Regal for a show. The Prestige is one fa. King. Amazing. Movie. See it, and don't spoil it.

I just did a little dance on my feet. So glad you're up and running again. I've been telling everyone I know about my survivalist friend in Buffalo, making coffee on his grill every morning. Considering it was 57 degrees this morning and all of Austin has their mittens on, you're quite a heroic figure in my circles.

Yee-haw for you!

So glad you have had a return to normal civilation and a life of power at home. Now that you have survived without serious incident, this shall surely transform into one of those life stories that lives in infamy and gets dredged up over and over at the oddest times. "remember the time when we had a Blizzard in October....." You have truly made me appreciate our current weather, which is bleary and miserable, but not distructive and life threatening.
