The knee seems remarkably better today. Whether it's just getting better on its own or responding to my experimenting with a fairly-heavy-duty NSAID (left over from a different condition and from a stash that officially expired a year ago), I don't know. Also, I don't care if it keeps up this way.

----

I got a voicemail from Shangri-la yesterday morning, telling me the replacement tablet had arrived, was loaded up and it is, and I quote, "awesome! Wait till you see!"  You'll excuse me my lack of rampant enthusiasm until I actually do see it, which at this point looks like will be Monday....

which was supposed to be the beginning of a hellish week with trials on Monday and Tuesday, a shorter hearing on Wednesday and a client deposition on Thursday. Except I just found out yesterday that Tuesday is settled and the other side wants Monday adjourned; Wednesday is postponed or settled; and the client hasn't decided if he wants me to even go on Thursday.

So this elusive tablet could be the highlight of my week.

Kickstarts and Rocketfuels for 7000, Alex:

My first read on this tablet (which needs a name, although "Godot" might just stick) will be the epub I've been sent of another of Candlemark and Gleam's efforts- one that I helped Kickstart:

(or clicky this if the embed above isn't LJ or DW-approved). It looks like amazing fun and while the fundraise stage is over, the digital OR! NOW! trade paperback! version can be ordered from the C&G site:)

Meanwhile, over at Rocketfuel, you can still sign up to be a part of this:

That's Deanna Witkowski, performing Chopin at nearby Houghton College on the weekend we met her and have since connected with her musical projects. This one's titled This is NOT "Jazzy Chopin" , and while the project is only 20 percent of goal, it's got 12 days to go and is up to 38 backers. Her stuff's amazing, and a mere 10 dollars in the jar gets you the album. Double that and you get a video of her and Cookie Monster! What's not to love?

----

Finally, our evening entertainment (assuming I can wrestle a Redbox copy away from the Twihards) will be Breaking Dawn Part 1. With Rifftrax.

Paperback always goes up in tandem with eBook these days. At least on the C&G site...on Amazon, who the bloody hell knows!

How are the Rifftrax, on the whole? I've heard bits and pieces of the Star Wars ones, which sound funny, and the Jurassic Park one, but nothing like their full catalogue.

The Twilight ones are brilliant:) Only other one I think we've ordered is Last Airbender, which uses a Cabin Pressure riff, so it's got to be good:)

NSAIDS are my very bestest friends, because narcotics are bad for people in recovery. Glad your knee is feeling better!

LOVE the Chopin video!

Thank you for "Breaking Dawn" RiffTrax. My life is now complete.

There were moments when even the Rifftrax didn't help.

There were moments when it was so absurd on its own merits, it didn't need the commentary.

The other 100-odd minutes we could never have made it through without Mike and the bots.
